If you’ve been following me on Instagram you probably know that I was invited by the city of Goes to attend their annual bloggers day. Together with 7 other bloggers we were asked to join them on a tour of the city.
We began our day at the beautiful Katoen Hotel where we were kindly greeted with a drink and pastries. They served a typical ‘Zeeuwse’ delicacy called ‘Zeeuwse Bolus’ which is as delicious as it looks. The owner of the hotel spoke about the start of the hotel and how it all came to life. After that one of the city council members welcomed us. The first thing I noticed is how heartwarming the people were. Even the local newspaper made an appearance, so you can imagine I felt pretty special.
After chatting a bit about the town and our blogs we continued on with a fashion tour. On this tour we stopped by various shops that were known for its unique clothing and concept. Every single shop truly had some special characteristic. We first stopped at the beautiful family business Studio Blique where we were greeted by the owners. We then made our way towards one of my favourite stores of Goes: Dzjeenie. This second-hand store collects items all over the country to sell in her shop. She has unique pieces by Prada and Gucci, but also more affordable items. I scored an amazing bag and pants for 45 euros, which I will show you in a later post.
The next stop on our busy schedule was a lunch. Walking around and shopping can be super exhausting, so naturally I got super excited when we proceeded our way to the restaurant for a bite and a warm drink. The beautiful Hector hosted us and had a special table set up for us. The restaurant located by the harbour is known for it’s friendly staff, it’s cosy atmosphere and their use of fresh ingredients in every single meal.
We started the lunch with a homemade pumpkin soup which was one of the best ones I ever had, our main course consisted of a bruschetta with old cheese topped with some greens. Simple, yet delicious.
A full stomach really goes (HA) a long way, after finishing our lunch we proceeded our route through the small streets of Goes. We managed to visit a handful of other stores such as Bella Donna, Bags by-J, Taart en Tafel and one of my favourite stores: BUBBLES Theme Store, which sells a selection of Scandinavian brands such as Selected Femme and Mödstrom.
We ended the tour at the intimate restaurant 32 eten & drinken where we sat down for some drinks and a small bite. The famous jewellery maker Ineke Otte joined us too. She showcased her latest collection and told us more about time that goes into creating every single piece.
I am so thankful for being invited to this event and getting to explore Goes. It truly is an amazing town with a lot of different boutiques, coffee place and unique concept stores. A big thank you to the lovely group who made this day extra fun, but also to Goesisgoes for inviting me! If you’re ever in the area, I would highly suggest you make a day trip to this picturesque town!
Note: This post is in collaboration with Goesisgoes. They invited me to their bloggers day and all expenses were paid for. I am in no obligation to write this article and as always, all opinions are my own!
