MAASTRICHT GUIDE: HEALTHY & VEGAN FRIENDLY HOTSPOT PREPS MAASTRICHT

In this new category called ‘Maastricht Guide’ I want to introduce you to some of my favourite spots in Maastricht. From perfect lunch spots to aesthetic cafes, we’ve got them all. The city has tons of unique spots where you can enjoy all kinds of cuisines. So sit back and let me take you along some of my favourite hidden (and not so hidden) spots in the city. First in line: Preps Maastricht. This healthy & vegan friendly hotspot Preps is relatively new in town and the perfect spot to have breakfast, lunch or to enjoy a good cup of coffee with same vegan cake.

Preps is located in the former building of Kafethea, a vegan bakery that closed their doors one year ago. Ever since everyone was waiting what would happen to the place and they did not disappoint. They focus on healthy and fresh ingredients inspired by trends like veganism and mindful living.

I followed them for quite a while on Instagram, but only had my first visit a couple of weeks ago when catching up with a friend. We decided to check out Preps Maastricht and have lunch there. I ended up ordering the vegan pancakes and I kid you not, they were one of the best ones I’ve ever tasted in my life.

So last week I was kindly invited to come over again as I wanted to include them in my newest category ‘Maastricht Guide’. We had a warm welcome and were offered carrot cake (homemade) and coffee. Naturally, I went for a cappuccino with oat milk and my friend did the same.

The place itself feels like coming home, they did an amazing job of creating that unique ‘living room’ ambience. They even have a couch super similar to the Friends one! Super comfy, I can verify. They offer a wide range of lunch, cake and drinks. I myself am a big fan of their (mostly vegan) cakes and sweet dishes. However, I’ve been seeing some of their savoury dishes online and they make me want to try everything on the menu.
