When visiting the historical city of Bath, prepare to step back into history and immerse yourself in centuries of architecture, beautiful cobblestoned streets, and an authentic yet vibrant atmosphere. Bath is always bustling and particularly captivated me with its local scenes in shops, restaurants, and bars. Nestled near one of the famous sights, you will find No. 15 Bath by GuestHouse Hotels – a place where attention to detail is paramount.

A beautiful hotel
This was not my first visit to a GuestHouse Hotel. In 2023, I had the pleasure of staying at their No. 1, York location, a stunning regency townhouse recently awarded the ‘Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards in 2024. Their Bath location is equally charming and elegant. Situated in the renowned Georgian buildings, this boutique spa hotel tempts you to stay in all day.
Rich in heritage
No. 15 Bath by GuestHouse Hotels is located on Pulteney Street, just a few minutes’ walk from the vibrant city center. Everything in Bath is within a short walking distance, making it perfect for exploring over a few days while still having ample time to enjoy the hotel’s offerings. GuestHouse Hotels are celebrated for their exquisite interior designs, famous (free!) pantries, adjoining restaurants, and luxurious spas. With so many amenities, you’ll undoubtedly leave feeling rejuvenated.

The famous Pulteney Rooms
We were fortunate to stay in one of their iconic Pulteney Rooms. These rooms are named for their prime location at the front of the townhouses on the first and second floors. Overlooking Pulteney Street, you truly feel like a Bridgerton character in this room. Lady Whistledown, move over – there’s a new writer in town. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the details: high ceilings, panelled windows, a super-king four-poster bed, the charming pantry dollhouse, a cosy seating area, and rustic wall decorations. Between you and me – I spent an entire day in this bedroom, foregoing exploring Bath because it was that comfortable.

You won’t leave hungry
Our stay at No. 15 Bath by GuestHouse Hotels included a dinner reservation at their inviting bar. Located in the front room of the building, you can visit for morning coffee, afternoon refreshments, Sunday brunch, and delightful dinners. The chefs source the finest seasonal ingredients, blending British delicacies with contemporary flavors. We opted for a two-course meal, with the highlight being the chicory salad with apple, Wyfe of Bath cheese, smoked almonds, and a sweet & sour vinaigrette. I may have ordered this again for room service once, or twice. I was also impressed by their selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, served by the incredibly kind hostess throughout the evening. With an additional breakfast room situated one floor below, you’re guaranteed not to leave hungry.

A relaxing spa
I was already familiar with the skilled therapists at The Spa at No. 1, York. Therefore, it was no surprise that my visit to The Spa at No. 15, Bath, was equally soothing. I booked the ‘Lessen your Stress’ treatment, a 60-minute ritual focused on relieving tension in the neck, back, and shoulders. This was much needed, as I tend to carry most of my stress in my shoulders (writing this reminds me to relax them again). After an incredibly relaxing massage, the therapist proceeded with a full organic facial that left me glowing. I’ve had many treatments and massages in my life, but those at GuestHouse Hotels remain my favorite.

The many benefits of GuestHouse Hotels
If I haven’t already convinced you to stay at one of the enchanting locations at GuestHouse Hotels, here are a few extra benefits that make it even more enjoyable:
- Bringing the kids: Your room will be kid-proof and feature fun additions like tipi hideouts, a goodies menu, and Yoto Players.
- Bringing the dogs: All locations are dog-friendly, and they can recommend trusted local sitters and walkers.
- Record players: Each room includes a record player, and there’s a large selection of records to browse through in their record library.
- Raid the pantry: Probably my favorite feature‚ each hotel includes a pantry that is free (!) to raid. It’s stocked daily with delicious savory snacks, homemade sweet treats (including ice cream), soft drinks, filtered water, and fresh fruit.
- Station luggage pick-up: Want to explore the city immediately upon arrival? Give the hotel a call, and they’ll whisk your bags back to the hotel while you enjoy the beauty of the city.
A hotel worth visiting again, and again…
Overall, I’m thrilled about our stay here. GuestHouse Hotels is one of my favorite hotel groups, and I can’t wait to explore more locations in the future. Their recently opened No. 124 Brighton by GuestHouse Hotels promises the same charm and excellence. Plus, No. 15 Bath by GuestHouse Hotels was recently awarded Best City Hotel 2024 by Food & Travel Magazine Readers’ Awards, further cementing its reputation as a top destination.
